Primex got its start in 1972 when Fred and Karen Koermer founded Klockit, selling clocks and clock parts to local businesses and hobbyists through classified ads written at their kitchen table.
Primex Inc. Founded
Klockit's success led to a new market selling clock movements to clock manufacturers, and Primex Inc. was born.
Primex Acquires Chaney
The Koermer family acquired Chaney Instrument Company (founded in 1943), expanding the product line into decorative clocks, precision thermometers, and weather instruments. Today, Chaney's "AcuRite" brand has grown to be the leading line of weather instruments in North America.
Primex Wireless Founded
In 2002, Primex Wireless was created to fill a need for accurate, easy-to-maintain wireless synchronized clocks for schools and businesses. Our first product, utilizing our proprietary 72 MHz broadcast frequency, quickly became the leading wireless technology in synchronized clocks.
Network-Based Platform Launched
The growth of full-facility wireless networks led to the creation of the Primex wireless network-based, synchronized clock system. The new platform gives customers two-way communication with the clocks and the ability to be alerted when a clock needs new batteries or is no longer synchronized.
Sensors & Monitoring Systems
Environmental monitoring expands the functionality of the Primex wireless network platform. Proactive alerting and robust documentation capabilities help organizations achieve greater accuracy of data collection, eliminate manual activities to improve efficiencies, and meet compliance guidelines.
Primex partners with Amazon Web Services to create the state-of-the-art OneVue cloud-based monitoring and time synchronization solution. OneVue's unique ease-of-use features, state-of-the-art security and virtually infinite scalability quickly prove the solution to be best in class.
